Bishop's Stortford Cricket Club                 1825 - The Present Day

Our Cricket Club has the proud record of having played on the same ground, uninterrupted except for the World Wars, for longer than any other club in the country.

  

Facilities

The Club has the use of two adjacent grounds. The clubhouse is used extensively by the Cricket Club. Catering is available and live sport from Sky TV and Setanta can be viewed on two giant screens.

 

Cricket Bat & BallMembership

We welcome players of all ages and abilities and also social members 

  • Adult membership > 250
  • Junior members (ages 7-16) > 250
  • Qualified Cricket Coaches 18
  • Four adult Saturday league sides participating in
    • Home Counties Premier League
    • Saracens Herts Cricket League
    • Herts & Essex Cricket League
  • Involvement in 5 Sunday cups and also Sunday social cricket
  • A full programme of Ladies League cricket
  • Large Junior section, providing coaching, development and League and Cup fixtures with significant parental support 

 

Cricket Events

  • Weekly Club senior and junior games from April to September
  • Additional Fixtures for
    • Hertfordshire County Cricket Club Minor Counties
    • Hertfordshire 50+
    • Hertfordshire Junior County Cricket
    • Essex County Cricket Club 2nd XI Trophy & 2nd XI Championship
    • Local Village Cup semi finals and finals

Social Events

  • Annual Dinner - speakers have included Michael Atherton and Allan Donald
  • Annual Variety Show
  • Quiz Nights.
  • Benefit games for professional cricketers including John Crawley & Wasim Akram
  • Family social days/evenings
