Golf Clubs on CourseBishop’s Stortford Golf Club, which was formally opened in 1910, can be found in Dunmow Road, Bishop's Stortford and is the home of the PGA Headquarters Eastern Region. In 2008, the club hosted the Bishop's Stortford Masters, which was classified as a PGA Order of Merit event.

The 6,404 yard, Par 71 course, provides a challenge for golfers of all levels. Being nearly one hundred years old, the Bishop's Stortford Golf Club parkland course has matured over time and its attraction is enhanced by a variety of large trees and shrubs.

Perhaps the most famous name associated with Bishop's Stortford Golf Club is probably Guy Hunt, who was an assistant professional until 1968. He went on to play in the Ryder Cup and World Cup teams and won the Dunlop Masters in 1977.

The Bishop's Stortford Golf Club course professional, Simon Shepherd, has an excellent well stocked shop and he and his team are always on hand to give help, advice and coaching.

 

Bishop's Stortford Golf Club is a genuine members club being wholly owned by, and run for the benefit of, the members. Any profit is re-invested into the club, hence funds are available to ensure that the Golf Course is in the best possible condition the whole year round. The Green Keeping Staff use the latest technology and machinery available and the modern clubhouse is constantly refurbished.
